Special and Final Message from the Editor in Chief

Hello. My name is Melody Copenny and I have served as the editor in chief of Cru Storylines, the digital experience of this ministry. 

My team and I have had the great opportunity over the last eight years to bring you incredible stories of life change through this organization that show God at work in the lives of his people in the U.S. and around the world.

For me personally, Storylines has been an incredible part of my professional career as I’ve had the opportunity to first develop and grow as a journalist and a writer telling stories of life change here in the U.S. and then having the chance to go across continents into different countries and capture those stories in a broader, um, and more different way through different cultures and ethnicities. 

That’s been super inspiring for me and for those who’ve also had the chance to read those stories. Then I had the opportunity to move into editorial leadership, first as Managing Editor for the product, and then was promoted in 2021 into the position of Editor in Chief. 

It’s been so good for me and so encouraging for me to have the chance to help shape these stories, but also to have the opportunity to serve with such a dynamic team of writers, photographers, editors, and administrators who have all come together to produce these stories and give you the best and the latest resources in these life changed opportunities that can inspire you in your faith and encourage you as you continue to walk with God.

And we’re so thankful for the ways that you have taken these stories, not only have read them, but have also shared them with your family and your friends and those in your spheres of influences to also encourage them in their spiritual journeys with God as well. 

And now I find myself in a very interesting position to provide an important update to you.

Cru Storylines has come to a close and it has been such a gift for me and my team over these eight years to find these stories and provide you with opportunities as you have journeyed with God, and we have journeyed with you.
